Cult of Ashand is a collaboration between Steve Munslow (Hyperdriver, HyperEx Machina) and John Sherwood (4m33s, Noise Kommandoh).

Genre: Rock, Ambient, Prog-Rock/Art Rock, Spacey (usually all in the same track !!)

After discussing new ideas and finding a common ground, suddenly it all came together and Cult of Ashand was born.

Formed from the joining of two great exponents of ambient and breakcore, but moving outside all boundaries in a free spirited way, Cult of Ashand explores the ambient dark space outside your soul, then explodes into your body with prog-based riff and solo that just takes you skywards.
Steve Munslow (guitar, synths, effects, beats, vocals)

Steve began his musical journey with piano lessons and later learned to play the cello. He helped form the new wave/punk band Cardiak, where he played guitar and occasional keyboards. He then joined the metal band "Call of the Wild" as bass player, taking on vocal duties and co-writing the songs as well. Later he started the gabber/breakcore Hyperdriver project, and the ambient side-project HyperEx Machina.
John Sherwood (keyboards, loops, guitar, effects, vocals)

John was making his own synths back in the 70’s and recording to cassette “Thankfully none of those recordings still exist”. After spending some time as the laidback project Yorky, he went completely ambient/experimental as 4m33s. He always had a penchant for bangs and klangs, which surfaced in the form of Noise Kommandoh, some of whose legacy is apparent in Cult of Ashand.
